Are you alarmed at the direction in which our nation is rapidly careening?  Ready to stand up and do something about it?

Get ready to roll into action for this crucial election at the Western Conservative Summit the weekend of June 29-July 1. Over two dozen big name conservatives will inspire and motivate, including political seer/gadfly Dick Morris, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Glenn Beck, the Weekly Standard’s Fred Barnes, NRA chief Wayne LaPierre, radio host Hugh Hewitt, former Education Secretary William Bennett, and foreign policy expert KT McFarland. Geert Wilders will be a very special guest. He’s the valiant Dutch Parliamentarian whose life is in constant danger because he speaks out about Islam’s drive toward global dominance.

Held at the downtown Denver Hyatt Regency, the theme of the third annual confab is “Calling All Citizens” according to John Andrews, director of the Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University, sponsor of the event. “Glenn Beck will speak opening night on his new book, No Time for Cowards, which really expresses the ‘get involved’ message of this exciting weekend,” says Andrews. “Every four years people say there’s never been a more important election, but with all the alarming moves this president is making to transform America, and the world economy flattening, Americans are running out of second chances. This time the urgency is for real.”

The Summit’s goal is to stir people to realize their citizenship makes them a trustee of something very precious. “It’s not just that we want to leave our children and grandchildren better off,” says Andrews. “It’s that this nation, which is very special and unique in human history, has been entrusted to us, and every one of us needs to stand up and do something to turn it around.” Andrews’ own book, Responsibility Reborn, also voices this this theme of individual action.

The Summit will bring together concerned citizens from 30 states for information, inspiration, and motivation. About 30 conservative groups will have tables to promote their causes, encouraging networking and information sharing in advance of the election. Adding motivation to inspiration, Citizens Action Workshops will prepare participants to make a difference with sessions on education reform and vouchers, the dangers of Obamacare, and using social media like Facebook and Twitter to spread the conservative message.

Many of the speakers are themselves powerful personal examples of courageous and involved citizenship:

·        Geert Wilders has been banned from speaking in many countries (like England) because he warns of the gathering danger of radical Islam, as described in his book, Marked for Death: Islam’s War Against the World and Me

·        Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is battling Dept. of Justice lawsuits against her state for the crime of enforcing U.S. illegal immigration laws and defending her state’s borders

·        Star Parker, once a L.A. welfare mom, saw how government dependency was destroying her family and founded CURE, a think tank promoting market-based principles to fight poverty

Vibrant, exciting, and never politically correct, the Western Conservative Summit promises once again to be a dynamic powder keg of ideas to take our country back.
